February is a happy month for several k-drama stars. If you also celebrate your birthday during this month, you may share it with one of these k-drama actors. Here’s the list:
February 2: Hong Jung Hyun had a busy year in 2015, appearing in the drama “Ivory Tower” and the films “Enemies-in-Law” and “Alice: Boy from Wonderland.” His project for 2016 is the drama “Moon Lovers,” which also stars Lee Jun Ki, IU and Kang Ha Neul.
February 7: Lee Joon further cemented his reputation as an actor in 2015, winning awards for his role in the drama “Heard It Through The Grapevine” and starring in the film “The Piper.” His next role will be that of a detective turned vampire in the drama “Vampire Detective.” His character may be a vampire but he won’t let himself turn into a monster. The drama co-stars Lee Chung Ah.
February 8: Baek Jin Hee had success in 2015 when she appeared in the weekend drama “My Daughter Geum Sa Wol.” She played the title role. The drama has done well, with ratings as high as 34.9 percent and a few awards.
February 10: Choi Soo Young has been focusing on her activities with Girls Generation during the past year. She appeared in the documentary “SMTown The Stage” as herself and had a guest stint on “Running Man.” In 2016 the star of “Spring Days” is expected to return to acting with a leading role in the drama special “Perfect Sense.”
February 11: Go Ara had a great year, acting wise, appearing in two films, playing a president in “Detective Hong Gil-Dong” and a princess in “Joseon Magician.” She also had a cameo in “Producers.” Next year, she appears in the drama “Hwarang: The Beginning,” about the Joseon era flower boys who served the king.
She shares her birthday with Hwang Chansung, the charismatic leader of 2PM. Hwang’s acting resume became more international in 2015. He appeared in the Chinese drama “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” and the Japanese drama “Wasureyuki.”
February 18: Park Shin Hye, Kang So Ra and Song Jae Rim are each a year older on this day. Park had both a drama and a film in 2015, appearing in “PInocchio” and “The Beauty Inside.” In 2016 she can be seen in the film “Thinking of Older Brother” with Jo Jung Suk and Do Kyung Soo. In December 2015 her agency S.A.L.T. Entertainment confirmed that she was considering a role in the drama “Girl Gangster Hye Jung.”
Kang So Ra appeared in “Warm and Cozy” in 2015 and won an MBC drama award for her role. She was up for a role in the drama “Oh My Precious Person” but dropped out.
Song Jae Rim’s next project if “Goodbye Mr. Black” with Lee Jin Wook and Moon Chae Won. He last appeared in the dramas “Unkind Ladies” and “The Idle Mermaid.”
February 22: Daniel Choi only had a cameo role in 2015, appearing in “Heart To Heart,” but he keeps himself busy as an anchorman on KBS World Radio and a DJ on KBS 2FM.
February 23: Jung Yu Mi spent much of the last year acting in costume. The actress only did historical dramas this past year, appearing first in “Maids” and then in “Six Flying Dragons” with Yoo Ah In. She also had a role in a Chinese film, “The Choice: A Story of Old Shanghai.”
February 25: Han Ga In has not appeared in a film or drama since 2012, when she had roles in a hit drama, “The Moon Embracing The Sun” and a hit film “Architecture 101.” She will also take this year off from acting, as she and husband Yeon Jung Hoon, are expecting a child.
February 27: Ji Sung only had one drama role in 2015 but it involved playing several characters. In “Kill Me Heal Me,” he played a man with dissociative identity disorder. His personalities ranged from dangerously evil to schoolgirlish. The drama, which co-starred Hwang Jung Eum, was a hit. He and actress wife Lee Bo Young became first time parents this year.
