Finally, there is a chosen one to play the role of the late RNB princess Alliyah in a film — th singer and actress, Zendaya.
According to Aaliyah movie news, as reported on Variety.com, the working title for the film is “Aaliyah: Princess of R&B”
Moreover, on Yahoo News, Zendaya stated that she’s the right choice for the part and her reason is “if you want something done right, you’ve got to do it yourself.”
For this movie, the 17 year old requires to record four of the late singer’s songs from her bestseller “Aaliyah: More Than a Woman” by former Time Magazine music editor Christopher Farley.
The late RNB princess is widely known by her first name. But in real life, her full name is Aaliyah Dana Haughton. She made her debut on “Star Search” at age 10. At the age of 22, she passed away when a plane carrying her and some of her video crew crashed after taking off from a Bahamian runway.
So what should you expect from the upcoming Alliyah movie, which they also call the telefilm? Obviously, the movie will depict Alliyah’s journey from rise to fame.
And just like the young RNB princess, Zendaya has also been exposed into both music and acting . She landed runner-up spot on season 16 of “Dancing With the Stars.” After starring on her Disney Channel series “Shake It Up!”, she released her full-length self-titled debut album in 2013.
One of the line up projects for Zendaya is the upcoming Disney Channel original series “K.C. Undercover” and the Disney Channel original movie “Zapped,” which premiere is set for this summer.
The production that will handle “Aaliyah:Princess of R&B” movie is none other than Aaliyah Productions, Inc. Howard Braunstein and Debra Martin Chase will serve as the exec producers, Bradley Walsh will direct the movie, and the script was created by Michael Elliot.
The telefilm is expected this summer and is slated to premiere in the fall.
