Academy Award and Tony Award nominee Anna Kendrick has joined the cast of DreamWork’s Animations new animated feature “Trolls” which is slated for 20 Century Fox release on Nov. 4, 2014.

According to E! News, the Pitch Perfect actress will lend her vocal talents to the role of Poppy, the “relentlessly upbeat” princess at the center of “Trolls” a fun-filled adventure that will reveal the untold tory behind the beloved, colorful nature of the “Trolls’ trademark, gravity-defying hair.

Mike Mitchell, who previously directed “Shrek Forever After” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” will direct the next big hit musical comedy “Trolls” with Gina Shay as the producer.

According to Mitchell, “Anna has proven herself to be a brilliant actress with an amazing singing voice. She’ll inject Poppy with the exact mix of spirit, sass and song that will no doubt give a whole new life to the iconic Troll dolls.”

Danish Fisherman and woodcutter Thomas Dam reportedly gave break to the biggest toy crazes “Trolls” in 1959. Dam carved a Scandinavian troll-inspired doll as he was unfortunate enough to afford a Christmas present for his daughter Laila. It couldn’t be imagine that the “Trolls” would later captivate the hearts and imaginations of the people . “Trolls”  soon become one of the biggest toy crazes in the succeeding years.

The “Trolls” lost track and once again became a worldwide toy craze in the 1990s.  The “Trolls” captivating faces with gravity-defying colorful hair once again continued to fascinate the wide imaginations of the fans around the world.

According to E! News, Kendrick is currently shooting the musical sequel of Pitch Perfect 2, in which she plays protagonist Beca. She will be also starring as Cinderella in Disney’s musical adaptation of “Into the Woods.”

In addition, Kendrick’s upcoming projects also include Joe Swanber’s “Happy Christmas” and “Digging for Fire,” he Sundance movies “Life After Beth” and “The Voices,” plus Richard LaGravenese’s “The Last 5 Years” and the Jennifer Aniston film “Cake.”
