‘Ant-Man’ Movie Release Date Confirmed For July 2015! Marvel Studios Exec Says Film Will Still Use Majority Of Edgar Wright’s Creation?

The “Ant-Man” movie release date has been confirmed for July 17, 2015, according to Marvel Studios executive Kevin Feige.

In a report by , Feige revealed the “Ant-Man” movie release date, and elaborated further about the status of the upcoming film.

“Ant-Man is still going to come out on 17 July [2015]”, Feige confirmed the “Ant-Man” release date. “We start filming this August.”

“Ant-Man” revolves around the story of Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd), an electronics expert turned burglar after his original occupation failed to support his family’s needs. He was apprehended and was sent to prison for three years.

While doing time, he continued to delve into studying advanced electronics. This caught the attention of Stark Industries, who in turn hired him. The “Ant-Man” character came about after Scott Lang’s daughter Cassie fell ill, which forced him to go back into burglary.

Lang broke into the home of Dr. Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas) and stole the “Ant-Man” uniform, along with some shrinking cannisters. Dr. Pym then offered Lang to let him keep the stolen property, for as long as he uses them to uphold the law.

Veteran director and screenwriter Edgar Wright was originally slated to take the helm, but walked away due to creative differences. However, amidst the “Ant-Man” movie release date news, Feige also confirmed that they would be using most of Wright’s material, who worked on the film’s framework for eight years.

“Edgar Wright, who I’ve known for many years, who wrote the draft with Joe Cornish – much of the movie will still be based very much on that draft and the DNA of what Edgar has created up to this point,” Feige pointed out.

While the “Ant-Man” movie release date is still due for another year, Kevin Feige is already optimistic about the film as early as now.

“It’s going to, we believe, come to life in the best version of that we could possibly make,” Feige explained.
