Which of these smartphones is the ideal purchase for consumers? We pit the Blackberry Z10 against the Nokia Lumia 925 to see which is better.

In terms of design and display, both smartphones share the same screen resolution of 768×1,280pixels, but they have different sizes as the Nokia Lumia 925’s AMOLED screen is 4.5 inches, while the Blackberry Z10’s LCD display is at 4.2 inches. The Blackberry Z10 has a higher pixel density of 356 ppi, while the Nokia Lumia 925’s screen supports only 334 ppi.

There isn’t much difference between the thickness and weight of both smartphones. The Nokia Lumia 925 is at 0.33 inches thick and weights 139 grams, while the BlackBerry Z10 is much thinner and lighter of the two with 0.35 inches and 138 grams.

For hardware and OS, both smartphones are powered by the same 1.5GHz dual-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus) Krait processor, but the Blackberry Z10 outpaces its rival because it has 2GB of RAM, while the Nokia Lumia 925 has 1GB of RAM. The Blackberry Z10 runs on the BlackBerry 10 OS, while the Nokia Lumia 925 runs on the Windows Phone 8.

Both smartphones have a 16GB of internal storage, but only the Blackberry handset allows users to expand up to 64GB with a MicroSD card.

In terms of battery usage and longevity, the Nokia Lumia 925 has a non-removable battery with the capacity of 2000mAh that allows users to talk up to 12 hours and in “standby mode”, the battery lasts 440 hours. The BlackBerry Z10’s battery on the other hand is replaceable and has a lower capacity of 1800mAh, which allows users to talk for about 10 hours, and it lasts 312 hours in standby mode.

For camera specs, the rear facing camera on the Blackberry Z10 is at 8MP (LED flash) and the other camera is at 2MP. The Nokia Lumia 925 has a slightly better primary camera of 8.7MP (Dual LED flash), but the secondary camera is weaker of 1.2MP.

The Nokia Lumia 925 16GB, 4G, LTE variant costs $326 in, while the price of the BlackBerry Z10 16GB, 4G, LTE variant is at $229.
