The new James Bond movie, “Bond 24,” is slowly materializing.
New reports claim that “House Of Cards” star Kevin Spacey has been eyed to play a role in the upcoming film. Spacey is rumored to have been offered to be the next Bond villain.
However, Spacey dismissed the rumors in an interview with BBC News. He further insisted that he has no plans to be part of the new Bond movie directed by Sam Mendes.
“‘I don’t know why people keep writing about this, I’ve been offered no role, I’ve never read a script.”
“No, I’m not doing the next James Bond movie. No,” he added.
If indeed Spacey was considered for a part in “Bond 24,” that won’t be his first time working with Mendes. Spacey and Mendes previously worked together on the 1999 Oscar-winning film “American Beauty.”
Since Spacey has a personal relationship with Mendes, he shared that he should’ve been told about it already.
“‘Obviously if [Sam] wanted me he would’ve offered me the role. I don’t even know if there is a role frankly,” he said.
While there is no news yet on who Daniel Craig will face in the next Bond movie, it seems that that the same can’t be said about finding the next Bond girl.
It looks like producers have found the next Bond girl in English actress Joanne Froggatt.
Froggatt, known for her role in “Downtown Abbey” is reportedly being greatly considered for the “Bond 24” lead female role.
Earlier reports claim that while a female Scandinavian role is planned for the upcoming movie, M16 reports that a British character will play the main Bond girl with Froggatt currently being the leading contender for the role.
“Bond 24” opens October 23, 2015, in the UK and November 6, 2015, in the US.
