Chris Hemsworth: Snow White And The Huntsman Sequel In The Works! ‘Thor’ Star Lets Go Of Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Brilliance’

“Thor” star Chris Hemsworth is reportedly going to be busy working on another sequel after wrapping up “Avengers: Age Of Ultron”in a couple of months. Deadline reports that the 30-year-old actor will be teaming up with Kristen Stewart once again for a follow up of the 2012 fairy tale remake, “Snow White And The Huntsman.”

According to Deadline, Universal and Rothfilms are aiming for a 2016 release of the sequel. Hemsworth reportedly is contractually obligated to reprise his role as Snow White’s huntsman and savior. He had to say no to sci-fi thriller “Brilliance,” which Will Smith was originally going to star in.

he first film cost Universal $170 million, but only earned $155 million domestically. Global numbers, however, saved the film bringing in roughly $400 million. A number that, according to Cinemablend, is too bleak to warrant an installment. Despite this, Universal is still setting up for an installment.

niversal has also shortlisted three directors for the “Snow White And The Huntsman” sequel-Frank Darabont, Gavin O’Connor and Andy Muschietti. The controversial Rupert Sanders was at the helm of the first movie.

arabont’s works include classic movies “The Shawshank Redemption” and “The Green Mile.” He most recently helped turn “The Walking Dead” into a top-rated cable series before getting the boot. O’Connor, on the other hand, directed cult favorite “Warrior,” as well as “Miracle” and Natalie Portman’s “Jane Got A Gun.” Muschietti did “Mama” and was supposed to do a reboot of “The Mummy” franchise before falling out of the production.

Deadline further reports that Hemsworth should be making a decision soon, since the “Avengers” sequel will be wrapping up in a couple of months.

Suggestions for a Snow White-only or Huntsman-only film came about, according to Cinemablend, but surprisingly, both will be returning despite all the drama behind the film.

Snow White And The Huntsman” is supposedly the film that broke up “Twilight” stars Stewart and Robert Pattinson when the former was caught having an affair with the movie’s director, Sanders in 2013.
