Diane Kruger Movies: ‘A Perfect Plan’ Actress Talks About Her New Romantic Comedy, Says She’d ‘Rather Kill Myself’ Than Cry Over Orlando Bloom

Diane Kruger has a new movie called ‘A Perfect Plan’ coming out! The romantic comedy is about a successful woman (Kruger) in love with her boyfriend who tries to break her family curse of every first marriage ending in divorce, by dashing to the altar with a random stranger before marrying her boyfriend.

The 37-year-old actress recently chatted with Metro about marriage and how it affected her work on her new romantic comedy A Perfect Plan.

Kruger said, “I love romantic comedies because I think all of us vibe into the idea of love and the crazy storylines to get to love, and join the ride, as silly as it may be. That’s part of the enjoyment of it.”

She clearly enjoyed doing the comedy. She said, “I have been looking for a comedy for years and I would do it again. It was so fun and so different. It’s a very different exercise, very physical. It’s so nice to be light and have the crew with you laughing. I’m not used to that.”

‘The Bridge’ star added, “I’m not married and don’t intend to be, and I never believed in love at first sight but I do believe opposites attract. I thought it was a sweet story.”

Kruger also spoke about surprising boyfriend Joshua Jackson while they were separated during filming, saying, “While we were shooting A Perfect Plan, my partner was shooting a show in Vancouver. So I flew from Kenya, via London, to Vancouver for 24 hours because we hadn’t seen each other in five weeks.”

The ‘A Perfect Plan’ star admitted that doing a comedy was scary, saying, “I was terrified. And a few people were terrified for me, not knowing how I was going to do. But I felt like, ‘just go for it’. I’m not afraid to look like a fool, so I jumped in. I really learned from [co-star] Dany that it’s quite a skill to be able to do ten takes of something and keep it fresh.”

Kruger recently spoke with the Times about the role that made her famous, Helen of Troy. “I looked great, I guess, but it wasn’t much of a part,” she said. “Ten years later I’d rather kill myself than [weep] over Orlando Bloom.”
