This early, Paramount has confirmed the new “G.I. Joe 3” movie, and has revealed some cast members.
Movie producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura have confirmed that “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” director Jon M Chu will not be coming back to direct the new film, but shared that a writer is really the priority at the moment.
“We’re negotiating with a writer right now, and once we close that deal – which should be any moment – then we’ll have a story locked down,” shared di Bonaventura.
“We are trying to get going, starting early next year. I think February or March is probably more realistic. We were originally shooting for January and I think it slid a little bit”.
Dwayne Johnson has signed on to return for the third movie. However, there are still no confirmation whether other fan favorites will be back to reprise their roles as “G.I. Joe 3” cast members.
di Bonaventura further shared:
“There were some characters the fans were really shouting for us to put in, we’re gonna put in a few one of the ones that they know that would be new to the movie audience if they don’t know the mythology”. “You never know, Storm Shadow died in the first one and came back in the second one, and then other characters have died and never come back. The G.I. Joe world, the best thing about it is you never know who’s coming back and who’s not.”
Do you think it will be wise to bring back Channing Tatum’s character in “G.I. Joe 3?” Who would you like to see return on “G.I. Joe 3” as a cast member?
