HBO recently released the much awaited teaser trailer for the upcoming sixth season of “Game of Thrones,” according to People .
The new teaser trailer is about just 40 seconds duration and hints at the return of the lead character of the series Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington.
According to Time, the trailer includes death scene of Jon Snow, his brother, Bran Stark’s warging. It is narrated by the Three-eyed raven, character played by Max on Sydow and Isaac Hempstead Wright’s character, Bran Stark.
Kit’s character was pronounced dead at the end of the fifth season, where he was stabbed by Night’s watch members. There were many speculations and rumors revolving Jon Snow’s death and resurrection.
Fans circulated many theories over the social media and internet, about Jon’s death and how he would be brought back from death. But when Kit or any member from the series was asked about Snow’s return, no one commented on it. “Dead is dead is dead,” said Michael Lombardo, president of HBO during a press conference in July this year.
The new teaser trailer promises of new twist in the series, where Jon is sure to rise back from the dead and lead the series further, putting all the speculations to end. The teaser doesn’t provide any glimpse of the new series, but showcases few scenes from the fifth season, reported USA Today.
The trailer focuses mostly on the sufferings of the Stark family right from the first season like Rob Stark’s death at the Red Wedding, Ned Stark’s execution, Arya Stark’s blinding and Jon Snow’s death. It also hints about the important role of Jon and Bran in the upcoming season.
According to The Daily Mail , earlier in September, Kit was seen on the sets of the show in Belfast. He was seen filming for the upcoming season in his Stark clothes. A teaser poster featuring Jon Snow’s character was also released by HBO few days back prompting the return of Harrington’s character.
Earlier, HBO was seriously criticized for fooling its viewers and media. So, the channel has adopted this new marketing strategy just to put down rumors and create interest among the viewers.
Kit also indirectly hinted on his return to the show during an interview with “Humo,” Belgian magazine. “Let’s just say that the series will remain a part of my life for a while, I’ll probably be in my thirties when it’s over,” said Harrington, as quoted by Hollywood Life.
The sixth season of “Game of Thrones” is slated to release on HBO in April 2016.
