‘Girl Meets World’ Spoilers For The Season Pilot [WATCH]; Rowan Blanchard, Ben Savage And Danielle Fisher’s New Show Follows The 90’s Classic With Solid Ratings, Delivers To The Kids And Tweens Demo

The “Girl Meets World” spoilers for the premiere: with the season-opener enjoying a solid viewership of 5.2 million, Disney’s newest tweens series is set to continue and stay true with tradition.

The “Girl Meets World’ pilot is the Disney Channel’s biggest success so far in 2014, specifically in the younger demographic of kids and tweens (2-11 years old). The new show’s appeal owed much to cast members of the original 90’s ABC series, “Boy Meets World.” (

Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are parents to the new, curious, adolescent protagonist, played by Rowan Blanchard. The series is a sequel of sorts to the 90’s original run.

Watch the full episode of the “Girl Meets World” premiere here:

The first episode is a rite of passage for the protagonist. Riley wonders when she’ll be able to grow out of her father’s shadow and step out independent, and plans to tour her New York City on her own, unaccompanied by her parents. The pilot ends with her mother Cory consenting to her freedom, by giving her own Metrocard.

The “Girl Meets World” spoilers are reminiscent of “Full House” and “Family Matters,” reformatted and repackaged for the younger audience. Initial reviews understand the approach but wonder if the series could be tweaked to appeal to parents as well.

The “Girl Meets World’ pilot opens with a conversation between Cory and Riley, on her thoughts of independence and staking her claim in the world.

Cory: “Here’s what I’m thinking. It’s not your world yet. It’s still my world. Because if it was your world, Maya would have you on the subway already.”

Riley: “How long do I have to live in my father’s world?”

Cory wraps up the “Girl Meets World’ pilot and comments on Riley and Maya’s city adventure: “Yeah, Riley. It’s not so easy handing over the world without making sure everything’s going to be okay.” (

Ben Savage of “Boy Meets World” confirmed in an interview the new series lives up to the 90’s classic. (
