Viral photos of the seemingly creature near the Great Wall of China has turned out to be a hoax. Of course, some readers have already considered this monster-like creature fake right from the start, but police officials from Beijing clarified, “This was an actor wearing a costume. He was filming an advertisement.”
A tourist camping in Huairou, Beijing was just about to go to the toilet when he spotted the mysterious creature with bronze skin and long drooping ears, thus he shared, “I walked far away to have a pee, and suddenly saw a monster. I took a few pictures of it, but I am now terrified by my courage then.”
His captured shots, posted last Tuesday, were reposted for over 30,000 times in just a span of two days. Others considered the Gollum-like creature as an alien, while some even went beyond the imagination by claiming that this was a half-man, half-pig monster.
The emergence of fancy stories stopped when one commentator said that he is in fact the subject of the photographs, and that he was just dressed up in prosthetics and a leafy loincloth. With this, he wrote: “Over the weekend I and my friends went to the mountains to take a mini sci-fi film,”
“And when I was having a pee a person popped up and took pictures of me and shot away.”
