HTC One M8 Prime Release Date Suspended Indefinitely; HTC One E8 Ace Release Date Revealed (M8 Ace/Vogue Edition);

The

HTC One M8 Prime (also known as HTC One M8 Plus and HTC One M8+) has been suspended indefinitely.

EVLeaks claims that development on the HTC One M8 Prime/One M8+ has been suspended indefinitely. While HTC has neither confirmed or denied the existence and therefore possible suspension of an HTC One M8+, EVLeaks tends to be a pretty reliable source. And that’s disappointing, because look what we could have seen from the HTC One M8 Prime.

Meanwhile, the HTC One E8 release date has been confirmed. The E8 is a plastic version of the HTC One M8 smartphone and costs just half the price.

HTC has officially unveiled the HTC One E8, previously known as the HTC One M8 Ace and HTC One M8 Vogue Edition.

“Combining style and substance, the HTC One (E8) represents the incredible experience people expect from an HTC One device with a look and feel that’s unlike anything else out there today. If you’re looking for the best flagship smartphone experience, but want to stand out from the crowd, this is the phone for you,” said

The HTC One E8 has the same sleek, ergonomic design as the HTC One M8, but has a polycarbonate unibody frame. It’s available in white, pink, blue and grey. Also read our HTC One M8 review.

Motion Launch and BoomSound make their way from the HTC One M8 to the E8, but the E8 has a few innovations of its own, including a dual-curve design, a 13Mp rear camera plus 5Mp selfie camera with a countdown timer, and dual-SIM operation. The 145g, 146.42×70.67×9.85mm HTC One E8 has a 5in (1920×1080, 441ppi) screen and runs HTC Sense 6. There’s 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, plus a microSDXC slot that lets you add up to another 128GB. The HTC One E8 supports dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC, and its battery is rated at 2,600mAH battery. A line of Dot View cases is available for the HTC One E8, which is expected to be available in early June.

HTC has not yet confirmed the pricing of the HTC One E8 in the UK, although in China it will cost CN¥2,799. This means the One E8 could be just half the price of the HTC One M8.
