Which tablet device is better? We pit Apple’s iPad Air against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 to see which of the two is better.
In terms of design and display, Apple’s iPad Air continues to be the epitome of excellent design and build quality, while Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 lingers at the other end with its extensive use of plastic. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 just has the advantage over the iPad Air with its 10.1 inch display compared to the 9.7 inch display if the iPad Air. But, there is a huge difference in terms of the quality, as the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has only 800 x 1280 pixels compared to the iPad Air which is 1536 x 2048 pixels.
For hardware and OS, the iPad Air has a powerful dual core 1.3 GHz A7 processor, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has a dual core processor of 1 GHz, The iPad Air offers no stuttering or delays when it comes to opening apps, while the same cannot be said of the Samsung device.The iPad uses the familiar iOS operating system while the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 comes with an android OS.
For camera specs, the iPad Air has a 5MP camera that covers every aspect like autofocus, face detection, full HD video recording, and even video stabilization, although it doesn’t come with flash. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 on the other hand has only a 3.15MP camera that offers almost no features apart from the 720p video recording. The front facing VGA camera is also outshined by the 1.2MP camera of its competitior.
The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 costs $200 which is cheaper comapred to the iPad Air that costs more than $450 for the base 16 GB version.
