IPhone 5S Vs. Google Nexus: Specs, Features And Price Detailed! How Close Was This Battle Between The Flagship Smartphones Of Two Tech Giants?

Two of the most preferred smart phones on the market today are the Apple iPhone 5 and the Google Nexus 5. If you are wondering which phone to buy and would suit your preference, read on!

The iPhone 5S is not a big device and Apple fans don’t seem to mind this fact. The device is easy to put in the pocket and it doesn’t come into the category of the phablet. It does have visual appeal but there isn’t anything revolutionary about the device. Apple has stuck with the same design for their handsets for years. The device does have a strong build quality and the finish is aluminium. Even so the device is light and it feels strong and sturdy in the hands.

The Nexus 5 on the other hand is different and it is a lot bigger. However the build quality is weaker and the device is plastic. The Nexus 5 also has a camera that is freakishly big on the back. LG for some reason decided that the camera should be huge, but the lens is standard size.

The display of the Apple iPhone 5S is a 4 inch retina with 1136 x 640 resolution and it offers 326ppi. While the display is good, it cannot be described as being great and for the price tag you could expect to get something that is a lot bigger and better.

The Nexus 5 has the display of 4.95 inches with 1920 x 1080p and 445ppi display. It offers colours that are crisp and the images are sharp.

While the Apple iPhone 5S may not be a power plant, it is fast. It has the A7 processor with the 64bit architecture and this is clocked at 1.3GHz. It comes with 1GB of RAM and is offered in choices of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of storage. It cannot be expanded via SD though. The battery life isn’t superb and this is by way of a battery of 1570mAh, it offer mediocre battery life.

The Nexus 5 has the Snapdragon 800 quad core processor which was clocked at 2.3GH z. It comes with 2GB of RAM and choices of 16GB or 32GB of storage, it doesn’t offer support for SD card either. The battery is 2300mAh and offers good battery life.

There is an 8MP camera on the back and this comes with built in LED flash along with a camera on the front of 1.2MP. The back camera is good and video recording is good. With Apple you get iOS 7 and the iPhone 5S can be updated easily to any version. It does have a price tag that is steep at $600 if you want it unlocked.

The Nexus 5 offers a camera on the back of 8MP along with one of 1.3MP on the front. It runs on Android 4.4.2 and it has a price tag of $350 carrier free.

The Nexus 5 is the better of the two handsets in almost all ways. The Apple iPhone 5S may have a better build and better camera, but that’s about it. The Nexus 5 has the larger display and hardware that is more powerful, plus it has a price tag of only half that of the iPhone. Unless you have your heart set on owning an iPhone you might want to go with the LG Google Nexus 5.
