The science fiction drama series “Heroes Reborn,” aired on NBC is rumored to be the first and last season, according to Cross Map.
Heroes Reborn is a 16 episode mini-series based on science fiction story line. The plot revolves around people who discover their special powers in the series. These people are held responsible for the terrorist attacks in Odessa by the government of their country and have to be in hiding to lead a normal life.
TV by the Numbers reported that the ratings of the science fiction series have dropped even more after its premiere on NBC network. The mini-series started off with 2.0 ratings and 6.9 million viewers initially, which dropped to 1.0 rating and 1.1 million viewers in the recent times.
These drop in ratings is rumored to have hampered the production of the second season of Heroes Reborn.
Tim Kring, creator and producer of Heroes Reborn earlier confessed his desire to continue with the sci-fi series and release a new season and that he is still positive regardless of the drop in ratings.
“I’ve always felt that the brand was elastic enough and a broad enough premise,” Kring said, reported Variety . “It’s a show about ordinary people with extraordinary powers. It’s an indeterminate number of people around the world and then they have to save the world. I feel confident that we can find more stories to tell with some returning characters and new ones.”
Tim also discussed the advantages of keeping Heroes Reborn under mini-series category. He said that with few episodes, the storyline seems more attractive to the viewers.
Bustle reported Kring’s perception on the concept of mini-series. Tim said that as a creator he gets more chance to convey the plot with more effectiveness when the shows consist of limited episodes. He said that with mini-series audience gets to know more about the plot with each aired episode.
The remaining three episodes of Heroes Reborn are slated to air on NBC network in January 2016.
