Jeremy Renner Movie: Stars In Socially Relevant Film ‘Kill The Messenger’; Returns To ‘Mission Impossible 5’ With Tom Cruise?


Another Jeremy Renner movie is set to hit the big screen as the main man of “Bourne Legacy” and “Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters” stars in dramatic-thriller “Kill The Messenger” set to hit the big screen on October 10. The actor will also be reprising his role as William Brandt for “Mission Impossible 5” together with Tom Cruise.

Based from the 2006 book of Nick Shou of the same title, the movie circles around the life of Gary Webb, an award-winning journalist in mid-1990s. Webb, who is a Pulitzer Prize winner, made noise on his fearless exposure and attacks regarding the connection between the CIA-supported Nicaraguan contras and the crack-cocaine epidemic in United States, especially in Los Angeles.

He has also gained enemies and threats from due to whistle-blowing.

Jeremy Renner’s latest movie offering is directed by Michael Cuesta and written by Peter Landesman.

Variety said that other stars include Rosemarie DeWitt, Lucas Hedges, Robert Patrick, Barry Pepper, Michael Sheen, Paz Vega, Michael Kenneth Williams and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Renner partners with Scott Stuber and Naomi Despres as producers of the journalism drama movie set to be shown just in time for the coming Oscar’s season.

Rumor also has it that Renner will soon replace Katie Holmes’ ex-husband when he retires as the main star.
