Lana Del Rey’s performance at Kimye’s wedding was all for free despite rumors that she was paid $2.8 million to do it. Meanwhile, the “Young and Beautiful” singer released a tease of “Brooklyn Baby” from her “Ultraviolence” album.
Lana Del Rey told a cameraman that she did not collect a single cent for performing at one of the most talked about weddings of the year.
The cameraman asked her: “I know you can’t talk about how much you were paid, but how much would it cost for you to sing at my wedding?” To which she replied: “I’ll do it for free just like I did this one (referring to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding).”
She was then told about the rumors that Lana Del Rey’s performance at Kimye’s wedding was worth millions. She sang “Young & Beautiful” along with a 50-piece orchestra then followed that up with “Summertime Sadness,” reported.
“I would never let a friend pay me to sing at a wedding,” she said.
Lana Del Rey’s performance at Kimye’s wedding was at the Palace of Versailles two weeks ago. After the event, the couple-along with the family, friends and entourage-flew to Florence, Italy for their wedding at the Belvedere Fort, said
Lana Del Rey’s connection with the couple goes a long way, and she was even part of their engagement, although only indirectly. When Kanye West proposed to Kim Kardashian in October 2013 at the AT&T Park, he commissioned a 50-piece orchestra to play “Young & Beautiful,” said
Meanwhile, Lana De Rey teased a 36-second clip of her “Brooklyn Baby” track as part of the album “Ultraviolet” on her YouTube account.
“The moody, reverb-heavy snippet reveals Del Rey crooning amidst stark guitars and a mournful snare drum beat that plays like something from an ’80s David Lynch soundtrack,” reported.
