A Philadelphia judge banned Meek Mill from joining girlfriend Nicki Minaj’s tour as the rapper was found guilty of violating his drug probation.
WHYY reporter Bobby Allyn tweeted on Dec. 17, “Judge: Submitting cold water for urine test and breaking travel restrictions considered ‘technical violation’ of probation.”
The reporter added , “Judge delays sentencing until Feb. 5. Travels restrictions in place. Judge: ‘You cannot perform, even if performance is in Philadelphia.'”
Meek Mill has been fronting for Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Print” tour.
Apparently, Nicki Minaj testimony defending his boyfriend in the drug probation trial did not impress the judge much as the ruling was not in favor of Meek Mill.
The rapper testified at Philadelphia court on Dec. 10 that her alleged fiancé was not lying when he claimed that he didn’t take any illegal substance prior to the urine test.
“According to legal docs, during a drug test Meek handed the lab tech a specimen that turned out to be cold water,” said TMZ . “Meek allegedly told the tech it looked that way because he had just consumed a lot of water, adding he was a bodybuilder and drank protein shakes that make his pee appear that way.”
Meek Mill spent time in prison for eight months in 2009 after he was convicted of gun possession and drug dealing. Five years later, he spent another six months in prison after violating his probation.
Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend, meanwhile, is doing everything to avoid another jail time after violating his probation. The judge, meanwhile, doesn’t appear to be budging after having given Meek Mill a lot of chances to turn his life around.
“The chance you gave me definitely changed my life and changed my family’s life,” Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend Meek Mill addressed the judge on Thursday during his drug probation hearing, according to AP . “If you didn’t give me a chance, I probably wouldn’t be at this place I’m at now.”
“How many times am I supposed to give him a second chance?” Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley said.
