The Magic School Bus TV show will be returning to the small screen again, but, this time, with a new twist. Netflix is set to launch “The Magic School Bus 360
” in 2016. This new show will be relatively the same in the sense that it still tackles the classic Scholastic book and TV series, but this new version houses a more modernized take.
Ms. Frizzle will still be present to guide the children during their trips. However, there is no word about whether or not Lily Tomlin will be returning to voice the famous redheaded teacher. Still, fans of Tomlin can still follow her on another Netflix show, a new series entitled “Grace and Frankie.”
Ted Sarandos, chief content officer of Netflix, said in his statement, “Scholastic Media is a powerhouse creator and producer of top-quality programming four kids and families and its flagship series like ‘The Magic School Bus’, ‘Clifford the Big Red Dog’, and ‘Goosebumps’ have been huge hits on Netflix in all our territories.” He added, “We’re thrilled to expand our relationships and to be the first-run home of ‘The Magic School Bus 360, introducing a whole new generation to Ms. Frizzle and her hijinks.”
This new revamped series will consist of 26 episodes that run for half an hour, each of which are filled with computer-animated characters. The original series in 1994 ran for four seasons.
