BBC News reported that Queen will release new album after 19 years. It is also reported that previously unheard music with Freddie Mercury will be included in Queen’s new album.
According to the guitarist Brian May, Queen’s new album will be a compilation record which will include new material for everyone. Queen’s new album is tentatively titled “Queen Forever” and it is expected to be released before the end of the year.
According to Brian, the songs in Queen’s new album were recorded in the 1980s when all of the members are still in “full light, with Freddie singing and all of them playing.” He said, “they’re quite beautiful. It’s kind of the big, big ballad and the big, big epic sound.”
Despite the records being nearly three decades old, Brian said that through technology they were able to recreate the band’s old sound.
Queen’s last studio album was “Made in Heaven” which was released in November 1995. It ranked no. 7 on UK album charts and is certified four times Platinum with over 1.2 million copies sold. Meanwhile, the band will tour with American singer Adam Lambert for a series of shows in North America and Australia.
