Which gadget is the ideal purchase for consumers? We pit the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phablet against the Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone to see which is better.
In terms of design and display the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED touch screen which has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Its dimensions are: 151.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm and weighs 183 g.

For the hardware and OS, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is equipped with a quad core processor (A9 Cortex) which is clocked at 1.6 GHz. The chipset in the phablet is a 4412 Quad Exynos model. It has a 2GB of RAM and multiple internal storage options: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB (expandable up to 64GB whilst using a microSD card). It runs on the Android Jelly Bean.
As for the Nokia Lumia 1020, its processor is a dual core (Krait) which works at 1.5 GHz. The chipset that comes in the package is the Snapdragon MSM8960 from Qualcomm and the handset supports 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (this memory is not expandable via microSD card). It runs on Windows Phone 8 (upgradable to Windows Phone 8 Black).
In terms of battery usage and camera specs, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sports a Li-Ion 3100 mAh battery unit which last longer for up to 16 hours of talking time (3G), while the Nokia Lumia 1020 last 13 hours and 20 minutes of talking time (3G) because of its Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery unit.

The smartphone comes with a whooping 41MP rear camera which has features like optical image stabilization, LED flash, Xenon and Carl Zeiss optics. The front camera on this device has 1.2MP. The rear-facing camera on the Samsung Glaxy Note 2 has 8MP with features like LED flash and autofocus. The front-facing camera on the phablet is at 1.9MP.
