Sony reveals another model of their flagship brand, Xperia. The Japanese company is always offering that something special regardless of what market it is.
Following the launch of the high end Xperia Z2, Sony will be looking to take over the mid-tier market with the upcoming Xperia T3. While most mid-tier smartphone are built without a big blueprint, the Xperia T3 will be the world’s slimmest smartphone when released.
Despite bearing a 5.3″ display, the T3 will be 7mm thich. It is not so bad spec-wise as the T3 runs on a 1.4GHz quad-core processor that offer 720p display. On top of that, Sony is giving the device a premium feels by offering a steel frame. Even the high-end Samsung Galaxy S5 is plastic.
Other features include an 8MP rear camera, LTE connectivity and a 2,500mAh battery. All of the above will be selling at $400.
Software is KitKat with Sony’s usual additions, mostly focused on various camera tricks and the company’s gaming and media empire. The phone is a looker, to be sure, as are most Sony designs. That and the large screen could mean good sales, if the price is appropriate for the mediocre hardware. We’ll see when it comes to market.
