Spider-Man looks like he’ll have to take a rest after the release of “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” in 2016 to give way to his deadliest enemies to rule. Sony’s plan to expand the brand and to develop continuous tone on “The Amazing Spider-Man” franchise, two standalone films of Spidey’s archenemies will be invading the big screen and one of them is “The Sinister Six”.
“The Sinister Six” may have diverse story from the Marvel comics, but that doesn’t mean things will be totally different to what we know about them. While Drew Goddard is still finishing writing the script, we still have to guess who the super villians are to complete the Sinister Six.
“The Cabin in the Woods” director Goddard will helm “The Sinister Six”. He was first tapped to write the script, but given his talent, Sony wooed him to direct the super villain team movie.
In the second installment of “The Amazing Spider-Man”, viewers have a glimpse of Spidey’s enemies – Goblin, Doc Ock’s arms, Mysterio’s mask, and Rhino. Perhaps Marc Webb was giving hints that they will appear for either the “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” or “The Sinister Six”. The members of the antihero team are not yet named and it is not clear either if the original Sinister Six – Doctor Octopus, Electro, Sandman, Mysterio, Kraven the Hunter, and Vulture – will invade the silver screen.
Venom may or may not be included as one of the members of the super villain team, considering that it also has a standalone film. Sony tapped Alex Kurtzman, Ed Solomon, and Roberto Orci to write the script for “Venom” movie.
Many may wonder if Spider-Man will appear in the film. He will, but what is not sure yet is if Andrew Garfield will be the one playing the role. In this case, he will be playing the supporting role.
