The action survival horror video game, “System Shock 3” is rumored to be on its way to release, according to Tech Times.
The developers, Night Dive Studios have considered the possibility of developing a third installment of the horror survival game series. The news was confirmed in an official press release from Otherside Entertainment and Night Dive Studios separately.
PC Magazine reported that the upcoming game from the System Shock franchise will be a remastered version of the first installment from the series, “System Shock 1,” according to a new YouTube clip which showcased few scenes from the game which is rumored to be the teaser trailer of the new episode from Otherside Entertainment.
Night Dive Studios also announced that the remastered version would help them to concentrate more on the graphics and other functional aspects of the game than to look on System Shock 3 game’s development side.
“To really do another game in that series is going to take resources and time and commitment that we don’t have, and it’s really not our core business,” said Stephen Kick, Night Dive Studios chief executive, reported Gamespresso .
Engadget reported that there are speculations that Night Dive Studios may not be developing the remastered version of System Shock 3 as the teaser trailer on YouTube only features Otherside Entertainment’s logo.
The speculations are that the developer, Night Dive has teamed up with Looking Glass Studios, which had shut down in the 2000s. Looking Glass Company is well known for its earlier developed games from the Thief series including the first two System Shock games for PC.
Christian Post reported that the new game is rumored to feature the antagonist, Shodan and the players will be able to fight with the villain to save the Earth. System Shock 3 will also mark the return of senior artist, Nate Wells and series developer, Paul Neurath.
System Shock 2 was released almost 16 years back and the next release from the franchise after a long hiatus has really been a long wait for the fans reported Latin Post.
