The Evil Within Release Date: Bethesda has just announced that its upcoming horror title that is being developed by Shinji Mikami has been delayed to October 21st. The game was originally planned for an August release but Mikami felt that it needed a bit more polishing, which is why the release date has been pushed back. Bethesda has also released a new trailer for The Evil Within that can be viewed below.
The Evil Within is the first game from Tango Gameworks, which was founded in 2010 by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and later acquired by Bethesda owner ZeniMax Media. It is known in Japan as Psychobreak.
The Evil Within stars Detective Sebastian Castellanos who, as previously revealed, encounters “a mysterious and powerful force” that brutally kills his colleagues. Detective Sebastian and his partners, Joseph Oda and Julie Kidman arrive at a crime scene only to find the place being deserted. Sebastian witnesses a hooded figure massacring fellow police officers one by one. A mysterious figure then appears behind Sebastian and attacks him, rendering him unconscious. He later wakes up finding himself trapped in a land where dangerous creatures dwell and has to fight his way through the world of death and his close friend’s madness in order to understand what is going on.
In the first The Evil Within preview, “The Evil Within is a welcome return to survival horror. It mixes the over-the-shoulder combat (and chainsaw-wielding nutters) of Resident Evil 4 with the grim, psychological horror of Silent Hill, and the id Tech-powered visuals are beautifully atmospheric.”

The Evil Within will be released for PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
