“The Voice” Season 7’s new coaches, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams, start to settle in for their first blind auditions. The duo are replacing Usher and Shakira’s rotating seats in the NBC hit reality show.
The duo were introduced through a “Hollaback Girl” performance on “The Voice” last May 6. Pharell sang “That’s my seat!” to Usher, replacing the original lyrics. The pair co-produced the song together in 2005.
“The Voice” posted a photo of the four judges-Stefani, Williams, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine-on their official Instagram account looking cozy. “And the cast already look to be getting along swimmingly.,” The Daily Mail commented about the promo photo.
E! News believes the new coaches’ “chemistry could rival that of Blake and Adam’s epic friendship.
tefani recently made a stage comeback at the Coachella music festival just six weeks after giving birth to her third son, Apollo, with husband Gavin Rossdale. She performed “Hollaback Girl” with Pharell.
No Doubt” star, Stefani, also revealed a behind-the-scenes snapshot of the shoot, capturing the “Happy” singer in the background as well as fellow coach Shelton. Another photo the “Don’t Speak” singer uploaded was a selfie of her copying the show’s logo with the captioned: ‘#workingit on the set @nbcthevoice gx.’
Original judge Blake Shelton also posted a preview shot of the show, sitting next to Pharell and wearing the latter’s iconic hat. He jokingly captioned the photo with, “You know what they say about big hats…right
“The Voice” host, Carson Daily, expressed his excitement about the new coaches to E! News. “I haven’t seen Gwen Stefani perform in awhile and she’s just on it and Pharrell’s just fantastic!” He gushed to E! News after the May 6 show.
He also added, “Those guys are two pros, two great additions to our family here!”
The Voice” season 7 will start airing on September 22 at NBC.
