A new development has occurred in the fifth season of AMC’s The Walking Dead as another major character will die in the show.
According to reports from Latin Post, The Walking Dead comic book creator Robert Kirkman has revealed that Steven Yuen character Glenn will die a gruesome death similar to his comic book counterpart.
THR conducted an interview with Kirkman regarding Glenn’s death in the show and new cast member Seth Gilliam as Father Gabriel.
“I absolutely love it. It means people care, and people are paying attention. So keep those rumors flying,” Kirkman said. “Every season we try to bring in new characters that add something in their own way to the cast, much in the way that Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Rosita (Christian Serratos) brought a new narrative and more character dynamics to the show. Seth Gilliam’s character — whoever it may be — brings a lot of conflict and really cool character traits to the mix.”
Kirkman hinted that some other comic book characters could appear considering how quickly the zombies chomp through characters “as I like to say in an ominous and foreboding kind of way.”
Kirkman further shared some insights regarding Rick Grimes’ group in Terminus.
“We’re certainly not falling into, ‘We’re going to do eight episodes here and eight episodes there,'” he explained. “We’ll be changing things up quite a bit and keeping people guessing. There’s not going be any set pattern that people are going to be able to recognize.”
Meanwhile, leaked photos of the group’s new safe house in season 5 have been revealed
BREATHECAST.com reports that an old abandoned hospital building will likely be the new home of the survivors after they’ve escape Terminus. The photos were uploaded by the Walking Dead fan page called The Spoiling Dead Fans.
There is also a photo Beth Greene’s kidnapper’s car on the set. “The Walking Dead” producer Jolly Dale talked to AMC about the challenges with Season 5 episodes and more.
“Well, you will eventually see that the Premiere episode is by far the biggest episode that we’ve ever done. So, getting it all together to make it come off as good as we want has been a huge task, but it’s going to be amazing.”
The producer also talked about what excites her most about the upcoming season.
“There’s a lot of stuff I’m not allowed to talk about, but readers of the comic book will have a pretty good idea of which direction we’re going in. The way I see it is, we’ve killed a lot of beloved characters on the show, but that just opens it up for new story lines to come along. So don’t be too sad about all the people who died in Season 4 because there will be way more characters to come.”
The Walking Dead season 5 episodes will air this October on AMC.
