[WATCH] Pearl Jam Covers Let It Go: MTV Said It Broke Down The Barriers Between Pop And Rock Genre

Let It Go by Idina Menzel in ‘Frozen’ was the surprise song cover of the 90’s band Pearl Jam band to their fans in Milan, Italy.

The video from Rolling Stone shows Pearl Jam singing their single ‘Daughter.’ And in the middle part of the song, the vocalist and the rest of the band suddenly launched into the abridged version of the chorus part of ‘Let It Go’.

Now, Pearl Jam has created a buzz in the internet world because of their own spin on the track, ‘Daughter’ with a mix of Disney popular song from Frozen during their concert at Milan’s Stadio San Siro last Friday night.

Pearl Jam hit Trieste, Italy last Sunday night and currently continuing their European tour through mid-July. After that, they’ll kick off their U.S. tour in October, and head to Austin City for the Limits Music Festival alongside Eminem and Outkast.

Time.com had done definitive ranking for the best “Let It Go” covers because many people around the world are making their own versions. Four months later, it seems that ranking the best cover of the song is not yet over because of Pearl Jam’s surprise performance.

According to MTV, the genre of Pearl Jam and Idina Menzel single for the movie Frozen is totally different and is an unlikely combination. But Eddie Vedder, ‘Pearl Jam’ vox created a history and totally pulls it off, making the barriers between pop and rock certainly seem to be breaking down.

Lately, Bruce Springsteen covered Lorde’s breakout hit “Royals.”
